Unity and Collective Effort by Olya Glantsman

We are proud to bring you the October 2023 issue of the Global Journal of Community Psychology Practice (GJCPP). Especially during challenging times, when the world grapples with crises ranging from public health emergencies to environmental degradation and social upheaval, the need for unity and collective effort becomes crucial. These trying moments demand that we rise above our differences, unite, and work together toward a brighter future. It is in these moments of adversity that our commitment to social justice, inclusivity, and community work is put to the test. Let us show our resilience, empathy, and solidarity, recognizing that together, we are capable of overcoming even the most daunting of challenges.

Whether it’s exploring the effects of participating in violence research for Black/African American mothers, examining the benefits of natural mentors on sociopolitical stress, correlating marketing as adverse childhood experiences, or highlighting how to successfully navigate the transition from high school to postsecondary education, our authors aim to foster a deeper understanding of the critical dimensions of society and their intersectionality, advancing scholarly discourse and catalyzing positive change on a global scale. Additionally, we are happy to include two thought provoking commentaries on Post Traumatic Growth and Conquering White Supremacy with Second-Order Change. Lastly, included in this issue is a book review of The Color of Law: A Forgotten History of How Our Government Segregated America.
