Warm Greetings from the New Editor by Olya Glantsman

It is a great honor to introduce myself as the next editor of the Global Journal. Among other things, I am grateful for the opportunities to take on this role, and I am looking forward to working with a dedicated team of volunteers who work tirelessly to share and highlight the work in the area of practice. Looking at the world around us, there is no denying that the work done by practitioners is essential in helping heal and build a better society. The current issue is one such excellent example of the work in the areas of social justice, collaboration, education, and ethics on the global level.

In 2010, the Global Journal of Community Psychology Practice (GJCPP) grew out of a small group of likeminded community psychology practitioners, researchers, and activists seeking to create a space for practitioners to share their ideas and work and to promote cross-cultural learning and collaboration. Since then, the Journal has become and continues to provide an outlet for practice related scholarship and experience. Breaking traditional publishing norms, ahead of its time, GJCPP has worked as an open access, online space for work that otherwise might be rejected in other venues for a lack of so-called “rigor” and those without access to academic libraries. My plan is to continue to fulfill the vision and mission driving this Journal -- to provide high quality, practical information on community practice.

Finally, I would like to ‘tip my hat’ to the outstanding work of Nicole Freund who has poured her heart and soul into the GJCPP over the last seven years and who continues to help run the Journal today.

Please stay tuned as we continue to highlight the incredible work of community psychologists all over the world.
